Portraits are encounters. Whether made in the studio or on location, I am interested in the person beyond the surface, and in the small gestures, expressions and moments that reveal something of their presence and character.

People

People observed and encountered in everyday life. I am drawn to unplanned moments, gestures and interactions that reveal something about people and the environments, communities and cultures around them.

Places

Places are more than their landscapes. I am interested in atmosphere, details and traces of human presence, and in how environments reflect the lives, histories and cultures around them.
